My Skincare Routine + Products I Am Loving

Kiehls Face Mask

Hi there! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Lets talk ALL about skincare. Up until 2 years ago, I was never one to maintain a solid routine for taking care of my skin. And I was definitely guilty of buying cheap drug store products thinking they would do the trick. But we all live and learn, right? Especially after one too many breakouts and a few acne scars.

Until my senior year of college, I was blessed with great skin that required little maintenance. A lot was changing in my life, including moving to NYC, and it was not agreeing with my skin. I quickly learned the extra dollars spent on high quality products is well worth it. Of course, the practice of maintaining a good skincare routine is necessary too. When searching for new products, I didn't stick to one particular brand instead trying different brands for different purposes based on my simple research. Yes, I am the type of consumer that is a big researcher (aka "Googler") and if you've been following my journey on Instagram you've probably seen me rocking a few different face masks. Yep, that's right not just one but LOTS because that is what works best for my skin. I also try to use 95-100% plant-based products, but right now my skin needs that extra help from Western healing properties.

So let me breakdown my routine for you and share a few of my favorite products that I have found to be quite effective!

Cedar + Stone Foaming Cleanser

Kiehls Cranberry Turmeric Mask

My daily routine....

+ I wash my face twice daily (in the AM and the evening before bed) using a plant-based gentle cleanser. Currently, I am loving the Cedar + Stone Organic Hemp & Rose Foaming Cleanser. It's super light, but leaves my skin feeling clean, smooth, and smelling like roses! PS. If I workout in the afternoon, I don't use the cleanser on my face a third time but instead rinse my face with cold water or use a all-natural wipe. Then I do the full cleansing routine before bed.

+ After I wash my face, I pat it dry with a towel and apply moisturizer. I tend to have patches of dry skin around my nose and chin, especially in the winter, so I like to use products that keep my skin hydrated. Although, I tend to alternate products I absolutely love the Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15 and it is a staple product for my routine. EXTRA BONUS it has sunscreen to protect your skin from those rays!

3 face mask I alternate between weekly....

Pure Body Naturals Purifying Dead Sea Mask
+ This is my favorite mask for when I am feeling like my skin needs a good detox. To apply the mask, I use a smooth make up brush and evenly lather it onto my face. After 10-15 minutes I rinse off the mask with warm water. My skin is always left feeling clean, refreshed, and soft! I typically use this mask in my self-care Sunday routine, but will sometimes use it twice in one week if I am feeling like my skin needs a little extra purifying.

TULA Probiotic Skin Care Kefir Ultimate Recovery Mask
+ My skincare journey has been quite the doozy. I am also guilty of being a "picker" rather than leaving the inflamed pores alone to heal. When my skin is in need of some repair, I turn to the Tula Recovery mask. One of my favorite things about this mask is that you don't need to rinse it off. Once you've let it work its magic for about 10 minutes you gently wipe it off with a cloth and then massage the remaining product into your skin. After a few uses, I noticed that my acne scars started to fade. I can't wait to see what a few months of consistent use do for that pesky spots! I use the mask 1-2 time a week just depending on the condition of my skin.

Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiant Masque
+ Sometimes my skin looks dull and fatigued and this mask is the perfect solution. The combination of turmeric and cranberry in the mask brightens and energizes my skin leaving me with a nice glow! I love when I go to remove the mask and the cranberry seeds exfoliate the skin removing any dead cells. I typically use this mask once a week as it is super effective!

For when my skin is feeling really dry....

+ I have "combination" skin meaning I am prone to both dry and oily patches. Fun, right? Depending on the season, my skin can get very dry and itchy (especially during the winter). To help relieve my skin from the irritation and dryness, I use Burt's Bees Skin Nourishment Night Cream which is packed with Vitamins A, B2, and E. This cream provides all night hydration, leaving my skin looking healthy and radiant.

+ I don't use a lot of oil based products on my face, but occasionally I use NOW Jojoba Oil to moisturize my skin. I also recommend this oil for the body, it'll leave you feeling silky soft! I never apply much and when applying it to my face I spread it into my hands and then dab it onto my face so that I can better control the amount applied.

And for those days when I have dark circles under my eyes....

+ Last but certainly not least, I have a few routines for when I need to get rid of those dreadful dark circles under my eyes. When I am in a hurry and need a quick solution my go-to product is Kiehl's Line Reducing Eye Brightening Concentrate Eye Cream. I dab a little onto my fingers and massage onto my eyes making me look like I got 4 more extra hours of sleep. WIN! When I have the luxury of time, I love to place tea bags on my eyes. Not only is it really soothing for my eyes it's quite relaxing. This little ritual makes me feel like I am in a spa! Some of my favorite to use are Yogi Tea Soothing Rose Hibiscus Skin Detox Tea because I always make the tea to drink before using the bags on my eyes so I am getting double the benefits.

And instead of using wash cloths....

+ I recommend using knit cloths. First I learned about using these cloths for multiple purposes from my Mom (she's a smart woman!). Then I saw Lee the writer of Lee From America and one of my all time favorite bloggers using the knit clothes too and was inspired to give these cloths a try! They are AH-MAZING! Lucky for me, my Mom is a very talented knitter and made me some knit cloths. Go check out her Instagram, the @knitted_tribe, and help support her on her journey of a new business!

I hope that you find this information to be useful on your journey to happier and healthier skin! Please know that I only share things that I truly believe in and would not share any products that I do not use regularly or have not found to be beneficial.

As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts! And if you have any products you're loving right now please share them so I can try them out! I am quite the product girl and will take any excuse to add another bottle to product cabinet. ๐Ÿ˜‰
