3 Must-Have Beauty Products For Minimal Coverage

If you were to take a peek into my make-up basket you would probably notice that more than half of the contents are unopened or barely used, which makes sense because it's not often that you will find me wearing make-up. Except my eyebrow pencil. I never leave my apartment without my eyebrows filled in because I have some pretty funky eyebrows (thanks, Dad!). Also, I'll let you in on a little secret of mine..the brow pencil that I use is actually Vapour Mesmerize Eyeliner. I ran out of my typical Benefit ka-Brow Eyebrow Gel and haven't replaced it yet because the eyeliner is a perfect all-natural substitution for the time being!

In all honesty I don't like the feeling of covering my skin, especially with any foundation or powders, because it feels heavy and like I have a thick layer of gunk suffocating my face. No thanks! Another reason I skip out on the make-up is because I have this fear that it will clog my pores and cause my face to break out. Yes yes, I know there are plenty of great make-up brands out there that aren't harmful to the skin and it's nothing a quality face cleanser and good wash couldn't remove.

It wasn't until recently when I started to struggle with breakouts that I started to seek out something that will provide me with VERY light coverage. Side note: if you're interested in learning more about skin struggles, check out my post My Journey To Healthy & Happy Skin, and know that you're not alone! I experimented with a few brands like bareMinerals and Laura Mercier but I was never quiet satisfied with the outcome and still felt like I had thick layer on my face even with a light application. Then one day I was watching one of my favorite fellow yogis, Jessica Olie, Instagram stories and she was doing a tutorial on her daily make-up routine. Instead of applying foundation to her skin, she mixed her moisturizer with a tinted BB cream and it looked amazing!

A few days later, I found myself shopping for an all-natural BB cream I could mix into my moisturizer and experiment with this newly found method. I decided to try mixing the Burt's Bees BB Cream into my Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer and sure enough it's the perfect amount of coverage for me! Although I still avoid using any sort of coverage as much as possible, it is nice to finally have found a solution for the days where a little coverage gives me a lot more confidence.

If you like to keep things to the minimal when it comes to your make-up routine, I highly recommend trying the BB cream and moisturize mix in replace of your typical foundation or powder! And remember a little goes a long way! Don't hide that beautiful face of yours!

Much love,
